The ANZ Gift - A Screwdriver!

At first, we wanted to title this "S****ed by ANZ Screwdriver".

But then, in deference to the fact that ANZ staff behind the scenes may face repercussions in face of customer's criticism, we go mild on this report despite a deep sense of annoyance.

June 2011's PC Show saw many disappointed ANZ customers.

Many had answered to ANZ's "Enjoy Fabulous Gifts at PC Show 2011 with ANZ Credit Cards" to have a chance at the "wheel of fortune".  ($100 minimum purchase to qualify).

We know sometimes for low $dollar purchase, you can't expect too much.  We have received $2 "Ang-pow" from another similar draw with another bank, and take it as the name of the game.

In this case, however, there were two aggravating factors.

One was that this involves a computerized wheel, whose pointers never seem to stop when pressed but would spin round and round until it cones to a halt at the "Toolkit"  (a.k.a. Screwdriver-Keychain) panel.

No one seems to get the other possible wins listed:-
*  OSIM uKimono Mini
*  BREE Laptop Bag
*  Gloria Jeans Vouchers.

If it had been a manual one, the suspicion of digital manipulation would not come into the picture.

The other aggravating factor had been that the path leading to the redemption room was jammed packed with people and booths necessitating much pushing and shoving to make one's way through, the redemption room was small and stuffy, and the queue was long.  So ANZ couldn't have come up with a worse win idea than this "toolkit" because after going through so much trouble and heat, to walk away with just a screwdriver naturally makes one feels tightly screwed.

A distinguished looking gentleman expressed everyone's sentiments when he let out steam with a "Ai-yer", shaking his head in dismay when he held the 'gift'.

Seriously, ANZ?  We are credit card holders, not beggars.
